One of the main goals we work on in first grade is learning how to read. Students always enjoy the Bookworm Book Club in April. This is a special event to promote reading for our first grade students. Each student will have their own reading log to record the number of books they have read. In May, we have a Pizza Party after school for the students that have read 50 books and are a member of the Bookworm Book Club!!

Meet the Teachers!

In the spring, first-graders go on a field trip to the Little Rock Zoo. This is usually the culminating activity after we have read and researched about different zoo animals. The students are always excited to see the animals up close that we have studied at the zoo!
